How can I make an appointment for my watch to be looked at?
To make an appointment to have your watch looked at, please call and book a time slot which suits you. You can also email to book an appointment as well as filling in our online form and we will contact you directly.
Can you service my automatic watch?
Yes, we can service or repair your automatic watch. The watchmaker, Alfie, trained at the renowned British School of Watchmaking (BSOW) for two years, learning a wealth of knowledge on all types of watches; the most important being automatic watches.
What does a service entail?
A service starts with a free estimate for the work required on your watch. Once accepted, the watch is then entirely disassembled and every part is inspected and subsequently, cleaned using our ELMA watch cleaning machine.
Next your watch can start to be reassembled, and lubricated using the recommended oils in the correct places with the specific quantities. The movement is regulated and adjusted to get the timekeeping within tolerance for your watch.
After this, the dial and hands are refitted, and the movement is placed back in its case and sealed up. Finally, the watch will be tested for waterproofness and undergoes quality control, final testing, and is then ready for collection.
My watch is running slow, does it need a service?
In most cases, yes it does. Watches typically run slow due to passing industry recommended service intervals (3-5 years for most automatic watches). During this period, the oils congeal and mix with debris, creating unwanted friction and resistance which in turn slows down your watch.
My watch is running fast, does it need a service?
In most cases yes. If you possess a mechanical watch, it is possible that your watch may be suffering from magnetism. If this is the case, we can simply demagnetise your watch (free of charge) and check see if this has cured the fast running watch. If not, we can do a free estimate for putting it right.
Can you do battery changes?
Yes we can do battery changes for any quartz (battery operated) watches. Anything from high end brands such as Cartier and Omega, all the way to high street and fashion brands. We also offer a battery and reseal service for waterproof watches and dive watches such as Tag Heuer.
Can you test my watch for waterproofness?
Yes, we have a Greiner waterproof watch leak detector which is known as a dry tester, this means your watch is not submerged in water to test for leaks and is suitable for all modern waterproof watches regardless of brand.
